I’m one of the Co-Founders of Oasis of Hope Counselling Center. Located in my childhood home, Oasis of Hope is situated in the heart of Shatti Al Qurum.
Growing tired of the medicalized and pathologized view of mental health issues and illnesses, My Co-founder (also my mother Dr. Suad Al Lawati) and I shared a similar vision of creating Oasis as a safe place, moving away from the harsh undertones of a clinic, we established it as a center, open to all, not just those struggling with mental illnesses.
When you walk in to Oasis, you are greeted by our friendly administrative team and then offered fresh lemon water, an assortment of herbal teas and fresh nuts. Upon leaving Oasis, we offer you a positive affirmation from our Positivity Jar, instilling with you with a sense of hope until the next session.
Just like a severely thirsty man desperately seeks out an Oasis of water in the depth of the desert, finally finding solace in that Oasis, Our Oasis of Hope is a beacon of hope to all those lost, struggling and alone.
Our vision also reflected the idea that having access to affordable counselling with qualified counsellors was a fundamental right, and not just a luxury, and have worked on assembling a team of qualified counsellors at your disposal all holding a Master’s/Doctorate level offering a wide range of rates and prices.
At Oasis of Hope, we embody a holistic approach to mental health and counselling, where counselling is not about “fixing” our clients but rather guiding them to reach their full potential and growth. We do not see our clients as “patients who are sick,” but rather see them as people who require some guidance and emotional support. We believe taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.
We also believe that it is part of our corporate responsibility to play an active role is de-stigmatizing mental health through our social media platforms, and are involved in several mental health initiatives to de-stigmatize mental illness in the Omani community, such as: offering free counselling sessions upon entering our waitlist, a free suicide initiative where we offer one free session to anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts, run a monthly Mental Health Book Club, and so on.

Counselling
Oasis of Hope Counselling Center offers a team of highly qualified counsellors with experience across a large range of various specialities. We offer counselling for people in the community, including child and teen counselling, family counselling, marriage counselling, virtual counselling, and hypnotherapy, to name a few.

Workshops
Oasis of Hope Counselling Center offers workshops on a variety of topics, including stress management, dealing with anxiety, healing your inner child, positivity, etc. We work with corporate groups as well, providing workshops on mental health in the workplace and various tools to help manage work stressors and improve employee health and well-being.

Other Services
Oasis of Hope Counselling Center is proud to continue to develop and promote mental health awareness and well-being. We are unique in that we have a team with a wealth of skills, providing unique services. Unique to Oasis, we offer incoming clients the chance to do a Mental Health Check In. We also offer hypnotherapy, virtual equine-facilitated work, meditation, singing bowls, and more.

Confidentiality is an essential part of all counselling and psychotherapy. It underpins the client’s sense of safety and trust and contributes to making the therapeutic relationship different from any other. Oasis of Hope Counselling Center holds all records securely and will ensure confidentiality in the treatment of any information held about its clients.
